De-addiction Unit
We have facilities for both IP and OP De-addiction treatment. Alcohol Dependence is one of the most common progressive Neuropsychiatric disorders influenced by the genetic factors in the community. Due to the unawareness and lacunae of facilities, many of the patients are not getting adequate scientific De-addiction treatment. At this centre we offer a scientific approach to the patient with drug dependence combining Pharmacotherapy, Counselling, Psychotherapy and Rehabilitation strategies. All patients who are brought for treatment are evaluated in detail. In the initial intervention phase we are offering the short term detoxification regimen with supportive treatment for their general medical conditions as well.
In the second phase patients are given counselling, Motivation Enhancement Therapy and Psychotherapy along with pharmacological treatment if necessary. We provide adequate psycho education, supportive psychotherapy to the relatives. Patients are given adequate training for relapse prevention. Otherwise healthy persons with only alcohol dependence may be admitted without bystanders. Patients with Co morbid Medical conditions like Diabetes, Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, Seizures, head injury, liver cirrhosis etc are admitted with bystanders only. In addition we run a De-addiction Clinic with AA meetings on all Second Saturdays.
